Use this quick checklist to ensure your webpages are correct. Return to the Style Guide or read more about why we use the Style attributes
- Page Properties (in browser window) - ensure page title is appropriate and descriptive enough for search results and Favourites lists, prefixed by ' Aberdeenshire Council - mypage
- Page title - short and descriptive of the content
- Page content titles - using Style h2, or h3
- Page paragraphs - no aligning, use Styles (callout or blockquote) to highlight important information. No SHOUTING in capitals, or underlining words. Use bold or Styles (callout, blockquote) to emphasise content
- Images - using correct Style (imageleft, imageright, imageleftborder, imagerightborder, imagelink) with relevant Alt Text
- Tables - Can information be relayed in another format ? Descriptive headings. Content has Style (odd) applied every second line
- PDF's - short, descriptive filename. Hyperlink has Style (pdf_list_item, pdf_in_context) and the identifying download and filesize in brackets eg (pdf 33 kb)
- Related Links - ensure they are relevant to the page
- External links - ensure they are relevant to the page and work correctly
- email links - ensure they are made into hyperlinks
- Legislation - ensure the first mention of legislation is highlighted in bold
- long pages - ensure they have the blue 'return to top' icon added, found in Insert - Library item
