Provide an excellent website which consistently delivers quality current content, a compelling user experience, supports widespread use of self-service transactions and continues to be recognised as the best Council website in Scotland

Strategic Intentions

  • Ensure the availability of information by providing quality content on all Council services
  • Ensure the currency of information by regularly reviewing all content
  • Build significant self-service capabilities by developing online forms, payments and bookings
  • Improve the provision of local information by seamlessly integrating interactive mapping interfaces and related location-based information
  • Encourage public participation and democratic renewal by using innovative methods such as online consultations and alerts
  • Maintain usability by seamlessly integrating all transactional developments into the overall site design
  • Improve and maintain accessibility by gaining a recognised accreditation
  • Deliver a compelling user experience by the considered use of modern web design and technologies
  • Recognise the growing importance of alternative access devices, such as mobile phones
  • Enable partnership working and direct transactions on other websites by preferring web services technologies
  • Improve process efficiency by promoting the availability of, and encouraging a shift to, self-service channels
  • Support efficient working by integrating with corporate and national customer and address data and infrastructures
